Abstract

Education is the tool by which a desired behaviour can be brought in an individual which is essentially verry important for the development of human personality in particular and society in general. Further, by having the clear understanding on the behaviours of an individual, one can also address the other dimensions of their behaviour such as Aggression. In recent years. growing instances of aggression among adolescences is one of the budding issues faced by both teachers and parents. The present article attempts to determine the Aggression level among secondary school students based on gender and type of school/institutional management. A sample size of total 100 secondary school students (50 male and 50 female) from West Kameng Distrct of Arunachal Pradesh was taken for the current study. ‘Aggression Scale’ developed and standardized by Dr.Guru Pyari Mathur(Raibareli) and Dr. Raj Kumari Bhatnagar (Agra),2012 was administered to draw data. The results of the present study revealed that female secondary school students have low aggression level in compare to their male counterpart and in context of type of school management, Government school students are more aggressive than the private school students. The present study clearly reveals that demographic variables such as gender and type of institutional management do have some influence on the aggression level of secondary school students.
